About THRIVE

A Movement Rooted in Opportunity.

THRIVE — Transforming Harvey through Resources, Innovation, Vision & Empowerment — believes that investing in young people and investing in neighborhoods are one and the same.

Our Mission

To empower young adults through mentorship, education, personal development, practical skills, STEM innovation, workforce preparation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development while creating opportunities to revitalize Harvey.

Our Vision

A thriving Harvey where every young person has access to the resources, education, relationships, and opportunities necessary to achieve economic independence, become a community leader, and contribute to the revitalization of their city.

Our belief

Young people and neighborhoods grow stronger together.

Too often, youth programs and community development happen in separate silos. THRIVE's approach joins them: young adults gain skills by doing meaningful work that improves the places where they live — growing food on underused land, building with new technologies, and starting enterprises that keep opportunity local.

When a young person learns to run a greenhouse, install solar panels, or launch a business, they don't just build a résumé. They help build a neighborhood.

Our values

Seven values guide everything we build.

  • 01

    Empowerment

Every young person has the power to shape their own future.

  • 02

    Education

Learning — in classrooms, labs, workshops, and fields — opens doors.

  • 03

    Innovation

New ideas and technologies can solve old problems.

  • 04

    Leadership

Today's young adults are Harvey's leaders now, not someday.

  • 05

    Opportunity

Talent is universal; access should be too.

  • 06

    Sustainability

Strong communities care for land, resources, and future generations.

  • 07

    Community Responsibility

We rise by lifting each other and the place we call home.

Why Harvey?

A city with assets worth investing in.

Harvey's greatest asset is its people — especially its young people, whose energy and ideas can shape the next chapter of the city. THRIVE sees an opportunity to invest directly in them.

We also see opportunity in strengthening existing neighborhood assets, expanding local access to workforce development and career pathways, and reimagining underutilized land as space for food, learning, enterprise, and community pride.

None of this happens alone. It happens with residents, families, educators, employers, and civic leaders.

Where we are today

Organizational development & community engagement phase

THRIVE is in its early stage. We are developing our organizational structure, listening to the community, and exploring partnership opportunities. Programs described on this site are proposed — they are not yet operating and are subject to funding, partnerships, staffing, and facility development. Your input will help shape what comes next.
